The scene in Kent
Kent runs all the way from the London suburbs to the Channel. Maidstone, the county town, sits in the middle, with cathedral-city Canterbury to the east and the Medway towns to the north.
Most of our Kent members are single men, with a smaller group of couples and a few single women – so couples looking for a third will find plenty of choice.
Maidstone and the Weald
The county town at the centre, with Tonbridge and the leafier Weald to the south-west.
Canterbury and the coast
A cathedral and university city, with Margate, Folkestone and Dover along the coast beyond it.
The Medway towns
Gillingham, Chatham and Rochester – three towns that run into one another along the river.
Dartford and Ashford
Dartford and the Thames Gateway face London; Ashford has grown fast around its High Speed 1 station.
Getting around: High Speed 1 links Ashford and the coast to London St Pancras, while the M20 and M2 cross the county. Set a VIP distance and you can look across Kent – or up into London – rather than just your own town.
Meeting up: Kent is long from west to east, and a member in Dartford and one in Margate are well over an hour apart. Maidstone or Ashford make good halfway points, and the fast trains put London within easy reach of much of the county.
