What Suffolk is like
Suffolk is a rural county of market towns, with Ipswich, the county town, near the mouth of the Orwell. Felixstowe sits on the coast beside its port; Lowestoft is England’s most easterly town; Bury St Edmunds and Newmarket lie in the west; and Sudbury, Stowmarket and the villages of the Stour valley fill the south and middle.
Couples are a much bigger share of our members here than in most counties – not far short of half – with single men making up the rest.
Ipswich and Felixstowe
The county town and the port town on the coast beside it.
Bury St Edmunds and Newmarket
West Suffolk, towards Cambridge.
Lowestoft and the north-east
Lowestoft, Beccles and Southwold.
Sudbury, Stowmarket and mid-Suffolk
The Stour valley and the villages in the middle of the county.
Getting around: the A14 crosses the county from Felixstowe through Ipswich and Bury towards Cambridge, the A12 runs up the coast from Ipswich to Lowestoft, and trains from Ipswich reach London Liverpool Street in a little over an hour.
Meeting up: Ipswich is the natural centre, and Norwich and Colchester are both within reach for a wider choice. From the smaller towns and villages, meet somewhere you are not known.

Suffolk tends to have three or so profiles on show at once – these are the current ones, blurred, with no towns.
