The scene in Wales

Wales packs a lot into a small country – a capital city, a second city on a long bay, the former mining valleys, and the seaside and mountain towns of the north.

Our members in Wales are mostly single men, and nearly all of them are in the south: Swansea and Cardiff have the most, each with a few couples, and the rest are spread through the Valleys, Bridgend and Neath Port Talbot. North Wales has far fewer.

Cardiff and the south-east

The capital's arcades and Cardiff Bay, Newport on the Usk, Barry on the coast and Caerphilly under its castle.

Swansea and the west

Swansea Bay and the Gower beaches, with Llanelli across the estuary.

The Valleys

Pontypridd, Merthyr Tydfil and the valley towns, with Bridgend where they meet the M4.

North Wales

Wrexham near the English border, Llandudno's seafront and Bangor on the Menai Strait.

Getting around: the M4 runs across the south from Newport to Swansea, and the A55 follows the north coast. VIP's distance search lets you look across Wales – or over the border into England.

Meeting up: along the M4, Cardiff and Swansea are under an hour apart, with Bridgend neatly in between. In the north, search across the border into Merseyside and Cheshire too – they are closer than Cardiff.
