What Connecticut is like

Connecticut is small and densely settled, sitting between New York and Boston. Fairfield County in the south-west – Stamford, Norwalk, Greenwich – is effectively part of the New York commuter belt; New Haven sits midway along the shoreline; Hartford, the capital, is in the middle of the state; and the quieter north-east looks towards Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

In Connecticut, couples narrowly outnumber single men among our members, and New Haven is where most of them live.

Getting around: I-95 runs along the shoreline from Greenwich through New Haven to New London, I-91 links New Haven with Hartford, and I-84 crosses Hartford between New York and Boston. Metro-North trains run from New Haven into Manhattan.

Meeting up: Connecticut is small enough that anywhere is within about two hours, so New Haven or Hartford work as neutral ground for most of the state. From Fairfield County, it is easy to search into New York as well.
