What Montana is like
Montana is the fourth-largest state by area and one of the least crowded, with no city much over a hundred thousand people. Billings, the largest, sits on the plains in the south-centre; Missoula, Bozeman and Butte are in the mountains of the west; Helena, the capital, and Great Falls lie between them.
Montana has more of our members than several far more populous states – roughly equal numbers of couples and single men – but they are spread across half a dozen small cities rather than gathered in one.

The capital and the plains city to its north.
Missoula and the west
Western Montana, towards the Idaho line.
Getting around: I-90 crosses the south of the state through Missoula, Butte, Bozeman and Billings, and I-15 runs north from Idaho through Butte, Helena and Great Falls. Billings to Missoula is around five and a half hours.
Meeting up: when the next city can be three hours away, most meets mean planning a night away – and in small cities, people recognise each other. Search wide, and meet somewhere you are both visitors.
