What New Mexico is like

New Mexico is high desert and mountains, with its people strung along the Rio Grande. Albuquerque is the largest city by far; Santa Fe, the capital, sits about an hour north in the foothills; and Las Cruces lies in the south near El Paso. Away from the river valley, towns are small and far apart.

Couples are the clear majority of our New Mexico members, with fewer single men, and most of them live in and around Albuquerque.

The biggest group by far, in the city and Rio Rancho.

Santa Fe and the north

The capital and the mountain towns up towards Taos.

Las Cruces and the south

Las Cruces, close to El Paso and the Texas line.

Eastern New Mexico

Roswell, Clovis and the plains – few members and long distances.

Getting around: I-25 runs north to south through Santa Fe, Albuquerque and Las Cruces, and I-40 crosses Albuquerque from east to west towards Amarillo and Flagstaff.

Meeting up: Albuquerque is where most members are, which makes it the natural place for a first drink. In Las Cruces, searching across into El Paso widens the choice.
