What Nevada is like
Nevada is mostly desert, and most of its people live in two places: the Las Vegas valley in the south – Las Vegas itself, Henderson and North Las Vegas – and Reno, Sparks and the state capital, Carson City, in the north near Lake Tahoe. The two are about seven hours apart by road.
Las Vegas has more of our members than any other city anywhere, and couples lead clearly, with plenty of single men and single women too. Outside the Las Vegas valley there are far fewer.

Reno, Sparks and Carson City – much closer to Sacramento than to Las Vegas.
Getting around: I-15 runs through Las Vegas towards Southern California and Utah, I-80 crosses the north through Reno towards Sacramento and Salt Lake City, and US-95 links the two halves of the state.
Meeting up: Las Vegas is full of visitors, so meeting someone for a drink draws no attention at all – but some of the people you talk to may only be in town for a few days. Ask early whether someone lives locally or is visiting.
