What Cheshire is like
Cheshire is a county of towns rather than cities, apart from Chester itself, the walled city near the Welsh border. Warrington sits between Manchester and Liverpool; Crewe is the railway town in the south; Macclesfield, Wilmslow and Knutsford are on the Manchester side; and Northwich and Ellesmere Port lie in between.
Single men outnumber everyone else among our Cheshire members, though couples are well represented and single women are rare – and because Manchester, Merseyside and North Wales are all close by, it pays to look beyond the county line.

Getting around: the M6 runs north to south through the county, the M56 links Chester with Manchester and its airport, the M53 heads up into the Wirral, and Crewe is one of the best-connected rail junctions in the country.
Meeting up: Cheshire’s market towns are close-knit, so a first drink in Chester, Manchester or Liverpool can be more relaxed than one in your own town. Warrington is a handy halfway point between the two big cities.
